The Moses Lake Business Association (MLBA) has hired Michaelle Boetger as its new Executive Director. Michaelle has been a part of the community since 2007 and has been involved with MLBA for about as long. She has served on the board, as board secretary and currently designs the marketing materials. She runs her own graphic & web design business with her husband as well as provide dog boarding in their home. Both her and her husband keep very busy but always find time to give back to the community through volunteer work as well as donating their design services to local non-profits.
“MLBA is going through a transition right now and I’m happy to step up and be a part of it. We are a community organization and I look forward to working with other community organizations to develop our downtown core as well as grow our community and promote everything it has to offer. Our focus is to our Main Street™ Community designation. Main Street™ is a philosophy, a program, and a proven comprehensive approach to downtown commercial district revitalization. The success of the Main Street™ approach is based on its comprehensive nature. By carefully integrating four points (design, economic restructuring, organization & promotion) into a practical downtown management strategy, a local Main Street™ program will produce fundamental changes in a community’s base.
Main Street™ communities also qualify to receive B&O tax dollars through the Main St. Tax Credit Incentive, Moses Lake can receive up to $133,333.33! The amount of money available in this program has capped out in years past and lack in getting the community’s support left Moses Lake with only a small amount received. The state has since increased the amount available and we hope to get the word out about this program and educate local businesses to sign up and keep their tax dollars local. You can designate any amount of your B&O taxes and when you do, you get a 75% tax credit back, an in turn those funds are used for any of the organization, promotion, design and economic restructuring activities right here in Moses Lake, it’s a win/win for everyone” says Michaelle Boetger.
Shannon Hintz, MLBA’s Vice President said, “I am very excited and honored that Michaelle Boetger has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Moses Lake Business Association. I have known Michaelle for over 10 years and in that time she has been involved with many Not For Profit groups that greatly benefit Moses Lake. She brings talent and drive along with a desire to make Moses Lake a better place to live. We are very fortunate that she sees the vision of the MLBA and is ready to take the reigns and put her energy into making our downtown a place that people want to be.”
